–The two-day Trang An Festival beganat the Suoi Tien Temple within the Trang An scenic complex in the northernprovince of Ninh Binh on April 15.

Chairmanof the Presidential Office of Vietnam Dao Viet Trung attended the opening ceremonyand beat a drum to kick off the festival.

Thefestival is annually held on the 18th day of the third Lunar month to celebrateSaint Quy Minh Dai Vuong, a general under the reign of the 18th Hung King.
 
Itis an occasion for locals to pray for peace, happiness and bumper harvests.

Thisyear, the event features traditional rituals, food tasting events and musicalperformances performed by artists from 11 provinces and cities, including Bac Ninh’sQuan Ho (love duet), Phu Tho’s Xoan singing and Hue royal court music.

Astudio within the complex, where the film “Kong: Skull Island” was shot, isopening free of charge for tourists throughout the festival.

TheTrang An scenic complex was recognised as a world Cultural and Natural Heritageby UNESCO. - VNA
