Truong Thi May, a model and the first runner-up of Miss VietnamEthnicity 2007, will represent Vietnam at Miss Universe 2013 inMoscow , Russia .   Unicorp, the license holder of Miss UniverseOrganisation in Vietnam , said the representation of May, who waschosen for meeting the pageant’s criteria as well as her enthusiasticinvolvement in social activities, was permitted by the Performing ArtsDepartment.
The 25-year-old beauty was born to Khmer-Vietnameseparents. She grew up in the Mekong delta province of An Giang ,where a large proportion of Khmer population live. She practices austereBuddhism and follows a strict vegetarian diet since she was 13. May is 1.73m tall. She is also the runner-up in Miss Vietnam Photogenic2006 pageant. May was appointed twice to represent Vietnam in MissEarth pageant but missed both chances because of unexpected incidents. The 61 st Miss Universe will take place from October 20 to November 9.-VNA

🧸 Vietnam re-elected to 2005 UNESCO Convention’s Intergovernmental Committee
