Tuyen Quang to host 3rd Int’l Hot-air Balloon Festival
The northern mountainous province of Tuyen Quang will host the 3rd International Hot-air Balloon Festival from April 27 to May 2, according to organisers.

Tuyen Quang (VNA) – The northern mountainousprovince of Tuyen Quang will host the 3rd International Hot-air BalloonFestival from April 27 to May 2, according to organisers.
The event is part of the Tuyen Quang Tourism Year 2024,which will be kicked off on April 27, aims to popularise its tourism potentialand lure more international and domestic visitors and investors to the province.
The festival will take place at Nguyen Tat Thanh Square with22 hot-air balloons flown by pilots from Australia, China, Japan, the Netherlands,Spain, Thailand, the UK and Vietnam. Visitors can experience the festival andperformances by DJ bands as well as joining exchange activities betweenstudents and pilots of international hot-air balloons from April 28 to 30.
♉ Other activities will be held within the framework of theevent, including introducing tourism products and products of local craftvillages, and a conference on investment, trade and tourism promotion in the province's ethnic minority-inhabited and mountainous areas.
An unique tourism product with the theme "My Lam HotMineral - Miraculous Spring" will be launched on this occasion, along withthe organisation of a football tournament for women of ethnic groups in TuyenQuang and the national badminton club championship 2024.
🌱 The Tuyen Quang Tourism Year 2024 will kick off a series ofcultural, sport and tourism activities to promote the locality’s potential fortourism development, cultural and natural heritage values as well as tourismofferings. It is expected to stimulate tourism, turning tourism into aspearhead economic sector of the province.
This year, Tuyen Quang is aiming to welcome more than 2.7million tourists, earning 3.6 trillion VND (nearly 144 million USD) in revenue./.
The northern mountainous province of Tuyen Quang has been developing typical tourism products to meet the demand of domestic and international markets and turn tourism into an important economic sector in the province by 2025 and 2030.
The northern mountainous province of Tuyen Quang posted a gross regional domestic products (GRDP) growth of 7.55% in the first half of this year, the General Statistics Office announced on June 29.
More than 1.8 million tourists visited the northern mountainous province of Tuyen Quang in the first six months of 2023, meeting 72.9% of the province’s yearly plan and showing a 44.2% increase year on year.
This is the first time since the adoption of the Convention that a country has served two consecutive terms on the Committee. The outcome shows the trust and recognition that member states have given Vietnam for its efforts and achievements in carrying out and promoting the Convention, as well as for its active role, strong standing, and growing credibility at UNESCO.
Quang Duc pottery is known for its wide range of forms, including wine bottles, jars, lime pots, vases, plant pots, incense burners and candle stands. Decorative motifs are equally rich, featuring mythical creatures, pastoral scenes, floral patterns, deer, peacocks, bats and more.
Vietnam’s cinematic appeal lies in its diverse settings, from terraced mountains and limestone karsts to bustling markets and ancient towns. Its mix of ethnic vibes, buzzing street life, and old traditions gives directors a goldmine for storytelling.
The Vietnamese team will gather on June 26 in Ba Ria-Vung Tau, where they will train until July 14 before departing for Indonesia for the ASEAN U23 Championship 2025, which runs from July 15 to 29. Vietnam will face Laos on July 19 and Cambodia on July 22 in the group stage.
