Song Lam Nghe An's junior players left Vietnam on August 22 for Japan, abonus given to the winners of the National U13 Football Championship.
The18-member team, under coach Nguyen Huu Thang, are scheduled to playthree friendly matches against local youth teams from Yamaguchi, AzulClaro Numazu and Vivace FC. These are clubs with their first teamstaking part in J-League Division 1 and Division 2.
They will alsohave chances to watch the J-League match between Shimizu and Kashima,and another game in the Division 3's Azulclaro and Yamaguchi.
"TheVietnamese players are methodically trained in football. We believe thetour will bring both coaches and footballers more lessons for theirfuture careers," said Hoang Ha, sales and marketing director of YamahaVietnam, who is the main sponsor of the tournament.
It is the first time that the country is to hold a G1-level tournament which is expected to lure more than 100 athletes of 15 countries and regions at Go Vap Gymnasium.
