UK’s Inspire Me Festival to take place in Hanoi for first time
A string of activities will take place within the framework of the Inspire Me Festival 2018 to be held for the first time in Hanoi from November 9-11 to celebrate the 45th anniversary of Vietnam-UK diplomatic ties, organisers have announced.

Hanoi (VNA) – A string of activities will take place within theframework of the Inspire Me Festival 2018 to be held for the first time inHanoi from November 9-11 to celebrate the 45th anniversary ofVietnam-UK diplomatic ties, organisers have announced.
The festival, to be held right in the heart of the city, ispart of the Inspire Me 2018 series jointly organised by the UK Embassy in Hanoiand the municipal People’s Committee.
“Innovation”, “Gender Equality”, and “Say No to Single-UsePlastic Products” are the three main themes of the festival which comprises of56 pavilions of British enterprises operating in the fields of culture,education, science-technology, fashion and trade.
Visitors to the festival will be able to watch a fashionshow with a combination of Vietnam’s traditional “ao dai” (long dress) and well-knownUK brands, the finale of a music contest, an outdoor screening, a photoexhibition featuring the UK’s landscape and culture, and a Premier Leaguelivestream.
Several talks on Holographic 3D technology, computingtechnology by 2025, vocational guidance, health, and gender equality atworkplace are also expected to take place within the framework of the festival.
UK Ambassador to Vietnam Gareth Ward said the event will bean opportunity for people to enjoy the festive atmosphere of the UK right inthe heart of Hanoi.
The participation of many units in different areas in theevent will showcase the creativity and dynamism of the UK, bringing inspirationfrom the country, he stated.-VNA

This year’s tournament has gathered over 300 coaches, athletes, and referees from 18 countries and territories, competing in 28 combat weight categories and eight performance categories. Vietnam’s team has 50 athletes, including six from Thai Nguyen province.

For the first time, Vietnamese audiences will have the opportunity to experience the ballet masterpiece "Don Quixote" in its original version by renowned choreographer Marius Petipa.
The contest carried deep meaning as it was the first time the life of Vietnamese women abroad had been highlighted as the central theme, said poet and writer Nguyen Quang Thieu, Chairman of the Vietnam Writers’ Association.
