Various cultural activities are being held at the Vietnam National Village for Ethnic Culture and Tourism at Dong Mo on the outskirts of Hanoi throughout January to celebrate the Lunar New Year, known locally as Tet, the nation’s biggest festival.

The “Spring Festival” programme taking place between January 1 and January 31is designed to introduce a range of traditional activities and ethnic customsduring Tet, featuring hundreds of members of 15 ethnic groups at the village.
The highlight will be the introduction of intangible cultural heritages tovisitors, including “Then” singing, known locally as “Hat Then”, which is adistinctive musical genre of the Tay, Nung, and Thai ethnic groups who residein northern mountainous provinces, such as Ha Giang, Cao Bang, Bac Kan, andLang Son.
Furthermore, the houses of ethnic groups in the village will be decorated inline with traditional customs as part of Tet celebrations.
Cultural and art performances themed around the “Spring Festival” will also bestaged on weekends.
Traditional dishes of the ethnic people will also be served at the village forguests to sample.
The occasion will see visitors given the chance to enjoy playing folk gamesalongside ethnic people.
This year the Lunar New Year festival will start on January 20, 2023, and lastthrough to January 26, 2023, with the first day of Lunar New Year holidayfalling on January 22, 2023./.

A festival, slated for November 18-20, will spotlight traditional costumes of Vietnam's ethnic minorities in the north at the Vietnam National Village for Ethnic Culture and Tourism in Son Tay town on the outskirts of Hanoi.
This is the first time since the adoption of the Convention that a country has served two consecutive terms on the Committee. The outcome shows the trust and recognition that member states have given Vietnam for its efforts and achievements in carrying out and promoting the Convention, as well as for its active role, strong standing, and growing credibility at UNESCO.
Quang Duc pottery is known for its wide range of forms, including wine bottles, jars, lime pots, vases, plant pots, incense burners and candle stands. Decorative motifs are equally rich, featuring mythical creatures, pastoral scenes, floral patterns, deer, peacocks, bats and more.
