HCM City (VNA) – 🐬The Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) will terminate its contract with Toshiya Miura, the Japanese coach of the Vietnamese men’s football squads, three months ahead of the expiration date.

The information was released by VFF Vice President Doan Nguyen Duc at a press briefing to announce outcomes of the seventh conference of the VFF’s Executive Board which took place in Ho Chi Minh City on January 28.
He explained that Toshiya Miura was fired due to poor performances by the teams under his helm. According to Duc, a new coach will head the national team during the two final matches of the qualifying rounds in the Asian region for World Cup 2018 slated for March this year.
The new coach is expected to be Vietnamese, but if no Vietnamese coach is eligible, the VFF’s Executive Board will select a foreigner, he added. Toshiya Miura was appointed manager of both the national and U-23 squads of Vietnam in May 2014. At the conference, the VFF’s Executive Board also reached consensus on a comprehensive cooperation agreement between the Vietnamese and Qatar football federations, Duc said.-VNA
