CaMau (VNA) – Vice President Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh made a field tripto the obstetrics-paediatrics hospital of Ca Mau province on February 27 aspart of her working visit to the southernmost locality.
Shecongratulated the hospital’s staff on the occasion of the 65th anniversary of Vietnamese Doctors’ Day (February 27), and lauded the outstandingdevelopment the hospital has recorded over the past decade.
Thehospital is operating at its full capacity, which reflects professional skillsas well as medical ethics of doctors here, Thinh stressed.
Thesame day, she presented 200 gift packages worth 520 million VND (22,427 USD) tosocial policy beneficiaries, and 200 others to disadvantaged children in thelocality.
Earlier,Thinh visited officers and soldiers of the Dat Mui border guard station in NgocHien district.
TheVice President asked the border guard force of Ca Mau and the Dat Mui station inparticular to keep close contact with the local people and join hands withlocal administrations in sustainable poverty reduction, so as to maintainsecurity and order in the localities.

The southernmost province of Ca Mau attracted 24 investment projects with total registered capital of more than 21.5 trillion VND (925 million USD) in 2019, bringing the number of projects in the locality to 318, capitalised at 99.66 trillion VND (4.28 billion USD).
In the context of the complicated development of the acute respiratory disease caused by the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), the Ca Mau provincial People’s Committee has held a meeting to discuss measures for supporting local enterprises to realise the export target of 1.2 billion USD in export turnover it has set for this year.
