Vice President visits anti-pandemic force of Hanoi Capital High Command

Hanoi (VNA) – Vice President Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh onApril 27 visited officers and soldiers of the Hanoi Capital High Command whoare performing COVID-19 prevention and control tasks at the centre of defenceand security education of the Vietnam National University, Hanoi.
At the working session, Commander Maj. Gen. Nguyen QuocDuyet reported that the high command has received, transported, quarantined andhanded over to other quarantine facilities more than 15,000 people, includingover 12,000 Vietnamese and foreigners from other countries.
It has also coordinated with localities, quarantine centres,the Hanoi Department of Transport and the Hanoi Transport Service Corporationto bring nearly 3,000 people finishing the quarantine period to theirhometowns.
Over the last three months, he added, officers and soldiersof the high command have kept a high sense of responsibility to bravedifficulties to fulfil epidemic prevention and control tasks, and theirefforts have been highly valued by the quarantined persons, including bothVietnamese and foreigners.
Lauding their contributions to the COVID-19 combat, VicePresident Thinh attributed the achievements Vietnam has obtained so far to theentire political system’s engagement and all people’s unanimity and support.
She pointed out that the pandemic remains complex andunpredictable, adding in the spirit of “fighting the outbreak is likefighting an enemy”, officers and soldiers of the Hanoi Capital HighCommand need to press on with drastic actions to concurrently ensure securityand defence and protect people’s health and lives./.
