Hanoi (VNA) – Vietnam have secured the only ticketto the final round of the 2018 AFC Women’s Asian Cup after defeating Myanmar 2 –0 on April 11.
Prior to the game in Hanoi, Vietnam needed only a draw toadvance to the finals while it was a must-win match for Myanmar.
Corner-kick export Nguyen Thi Tuyet Dung opened the accountfor Vietnam 10 minutes after the interval.
Later, the national Golden Ball winner Huynh Nhu made it 2 –0 from a close-range tap-in at the 82nd minute.
With the latest victory, Vietnam continued to top the GroupD standings in the qualification round with four wins, scoring 27 goals andsuffered only one goal loss.
The Asian championship will be organised in Jordan in mid-Aprilnext year. The top five teams will qualify for the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cupin France.-VNA
Vietnam’s national women’s team seeks to earn a berth in the final round of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Women’s Cup by leading Group D in the qualifying round.
Vietnam is determine to pass the qualifying round of Group D in the 2018 AFC Women’s Asian Cup, which will kick off on April 3 in Hanoi, Coach Mai Duc Chung said.
