Berlin (VNA) – The national flagcarrier Vietnam Airlines has put into service Airbus A350 on route between Vietnam and Germany.
Vietnamese Ambassador to Germany Doan Xuan Hung,Consul General in Frankfurt Nguyen Hong Linh, Trade Counselor Nguyen Huu Trang,and chief representative of Vietnam Airlines Ngo Tri Hung attended a ceremonyat the Frankfurt international airport on January 9 to launch the service.
Since January this year, Vietnam Airlines hasincreased frequency from nine to ten flights per week and used Airbus A350 to replaceBoeing 787 – which was put into operation from late 2015.
This aims toserve better the travelling of passengers and promote trade, tourism andcultural exchanges between the two countries.
VietnamAirlines is the only airline to operate the direct air route between Vietnamand Germany at present.
Airbus A350-900 is considered one of the mostmodern and convenient planes at this moment, which is expected to help VietnamAirlines serve passengers better.
According to a representative from VietnamAirlines, about 200,000 German tourists visited Vietnam using Vietnam Airlines servicesin 2017, a year-on-year rise of 14 percent.
In recent years, the number of German visitorsto Vietnam has recorded a two-digit growth.
Currently, Vietnam Airlines is operating 10Airbus A350s and 11 Boeing 787s. It expectsto have 14 Airbus A350s and 18 Boeing 787s by 2020.
Vietnam Airlines has been certified as a 4-starairline for two consecutive years by the international air transport ratingorganisation Skytrax.-VNA
The Vietnam Airlines Corporation, its member, Vietnam Airlines Engineering Company (VAECO), and the University of Science and Technology of Hanoi (USTH) have inked an agreement to launch a Bachelor Programme on Aeronautics and a Master Programme on International Air Transport Operation Management.
