Vietnam attends defence service exhibition, conference in Malaysia

Hanoi (VNA) – A Vietnamese delegation headed by Senior Lieutenant General Phung Si Tan, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army (VPA) and head of the organizing committee of the Vietnam International Defence Expo 2024, is attending the 2024 Defence Service Asia Exhibition and Conference (DSA) and the National Security Asia 2024 (NATSEC) exhibition in Malaysia.
On the sidelines of the events, running from May 6-9, the delegation has engaged in meetings with several partners to discuss mutual concerns and cooperation.
At a meeting with the head of the Republic of Korea’s Defence Acquisition Programme Administration (DAPA), the two sides expressed satisfaction with the development of the nations’ comprehensive strategic partnership. Especially, bilateral cooperation in the defence industry and military trade sectors has been focused, reaping tangible results.
Talking to Vietnam News Agency correspondents on the sidelines, Tan affirmed Vietnam's high regard for defence cooperation with Malaysia, based on the foundation of diplomatic relations between the two countries for over five decades, since 1973.
He noted that through this working visit, the Vietnamese delegation aims to meet with partners and professional defence industry companies to prepare for the 2nd Vietnam International Defence Expo in December./.
The Military Industry and Telecoms Group (Viettel) will showcase its high-tech defence industry products at the 2024 Defence Service Asia Exhibition and Conference (DSA) and the National Security Asia 2024 (NATSEC) exhibition in Malaysia from May 6-9.

The Chairman stressed the need for stricter fiscal discipline, faster digital transformation, and more efficient management of State budget revenues and expenditures.
The ministry has instructed Vietnamese representative agencies in Israel, Iran, as well as those in neighbouring countries, to closely monitor the situation and request local authorities to ensure absolute safety for Vietnamese citizens living, studying, and working in high-risk areas.
