Vietnam, Australia enhance people-to-people activities
The second congress of the Vietnam-Australia Friendship Association took place in Hanoi on November 30 to increase people-to-people exchanges between the two countries.

As many as 50 delegates participatedin the event to map out orientations and activities for the 2016 – 2021 tenure.
They agreed to expand theassociation’s network across Vietnam and cooperate with Australia to hostEnglish summer camps and tours for Australian visitors.
Vice President of the Vietnam Unionof Friendship Organisations Bui Khac Son said the association will continuouslywork to enhance the two nations’ friendship and comprehensive collaboration.
Deputy Head of the AustralianEmbassy Mission to Vietnam Layton Pike said the embassy supports projects andactivities strengthening friendship between Vietnamese and Australian people,including the Australia-Vietnam Young Leadership Dialogue.
The new executive board of the associationin the 2016-2021 tenure includes 47 members.

Vietnam’s Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and Australia’s Department of Agriculture and Water Resources convened the first high-level dialogue on agricultural policies on November 22.
Vietnam and Australia have reached a consensus on establishing a joint working group this year to bolster farming trade and cooperation between the sides.

For the first time, Vietnamese audiences will have the opportunity to experience the ballet masterpiece "Don Quixote" in its original version by renowned choreographer Marius Petipa.
The contest carried deep meaning as it was the first time the life of Vietnamese women abroad had been highlighted as the central theme, said poet and writer Nguyen Quang Thieu, Chairman of the Vietnam Writers’ Association.
