Vietnam, Barbados to explore potential cooperation areas

Hanoi (VNA) - Vietnamese Ambassador to Barbados Le VietDuyen presented his letter of credentials toBarbados Governor-General Sandra Mason during an online ceremony on October 5.
Governor-General Sandra Mason congratulated Ambassador Le Viet Duyen onhis appointment as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary in Barbados andannounced that she will soon appoint a non-resident Barbados Ambassador to Vietnam.
Governor-General Mason expressed her wish to further promotemulti-faceted cooperation with Vietnam, especially in potential areas such aseconomy, trade, culture, education, tourism, agriculture, marine resourcemanagement and climate change combat.
For his part, Ambassador Duyen pledged to make every effort to take relations between the twocountries in all aspects to a new height.
The Ambassador affirmed that Vietnamattaches great importance to the development of cooperation relations withBarbados. He noted that the two sides have a lot ofpotential that can be ultilised to bolster bilateral cooperation. Inthe coming time, the two sides can also promote people-to-people exchangesincluding visits by teachers and students to increase bilateral understanding.
Vietnam and Barbados established diplomatic relations on August 25, 1995./.
Vietnamese Ambassador to Venezuela and Barbados Le Viet Duyen had an online meeting with Barbados Permanent Secretary of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade Simone Rudder on June 3, during which they discussed ways to boost bilateral cooperation between the two countries.
Vietnam always regards the RoK as an important and long-term strategic partner; and hopes that the two sides will work together to further deepen the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership in a more substantive, effective, and comprehensive manner in the coming time.
