Vietnam defeated Russia 2-0 at the U15 International Football Tournament Acecook Cup 2019 on August 26, the opening day of the event, in the southern coastal province of Ba Ria-Vung Tau.

Ba Ria – Vung Tau (VNA) – Vietnamdefeated Russia 2-0 at the U15 International Football Tournament Acecook Cup2019 on August 26, the opening day of the event, in the southern coastalprovince of Ba Ria-Vung Tau.

Striker Cai Van Quy scored both the goals,the first in the 54th minute and the second 12 minutes later.

Earlier the same day, the Republic of Korea (RoK)defeated Myanmar 6-1.

Lasting until August 30 at the Ba Ria citystadium, the Acecook Cup features teams from Myanmar, RoK, Russia and hosts Vietnam.

After competing in a round-robin format, thesquad with the highest points will be crowned champion.

According to Vice President of the Vietnam FootballFederation Nguyen Minh Chau, the tournament is supported by the Union ofEuropean Football Associations towards youth football in 2019.

Chau said it was also a test for the hostsahead of the upcoming 2020 AFC U16 Football Championship qualifiers.-VNA
