Phnom Penh (VNA) ﷺ– A conference onbolstering trade cooperation between Vietnam and Cambodia in 2023 opened inPhnom Penh on October 26, within the framework of the ongoing Vietnam-CambodiaDefence, Economic Production Exhibition 2023 (VIDEX 2023).
Deputy Minister of Industry andTrade Do Thang Hai said the event is expected to promotefriendship, solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between the two sides,creating opportunities for Vietnamese and Cambodian businesses to meet andexchange. According to Hai, cooperation in areas of economy,trade, and investment are priorities in the two countries' foreign policies. Cambodia’snew government under the leadership of Prime Minister Samdech Thipadei HunManet has paid attention to intensify cooperative opportunities between the twosides. Deputy Secretary of State for the Ministry of Commerceof Cambodia Nam Lynal said the conference created numerous chances forparticipants from both public and private sectors of the two countries toexchange ideas and information on trade promotion and to introduce measures to create new driving forces for the fruitful relations betweenVietnam and Cambodia. Representatives ofmanagement agencies and business communities of the two countries at theconference discussed trade promotion and connections. They alsoshared difficulties, opportunities and challenges in investment and businessactivities in the Cambodian market while proposing solutions to create favourableconditions for trade and investment between Vietnam and Cambodia, especiallytrade activities in the border areas of the two countries in order to boost socio-economic development of the two countries./.
