Vietnam, Cambodia to hold border friendship exchange programme
The Vietnam-Cambodia border friendship exchange programme at the level of High Command will take place in the southern province of An Giang from August 27 to 28.

HCM City (VNA) – The Vietnam-Cambodia border friendship exchange programme atthe level of High Command will take place in the southern province of An Giangfrom August 27 to 28.
Numerous activities will be held during theprogramme to strengthen the border protection work and tighten the friendshipand cooperation between Vietnamese and Cambodian localities.
At a press conference to announce the event inHo Chi Minh City on August 19, Major General Phung Quoc Tuan, Deputy PoliticalCommissar of the Border Guard, said the exchange programme aims to enhance thetwo countries’ coordination in border and border gate protection as well aspromote socio-economic development of shared-border localities.
The programme is also to realise the cooperationagreements signed between relevant agencies of the two countries in border safeguardingand push the implementation of demarcation of border markers, thus contributingto increasing mutual understanding, solidarity and friendship.
Vietnam and Cambodia will hold a bilateralpatrol at border marker 275 at Tinh Bien international border gate, andinaugurate Vietnam-Cambodia border friendship cultural house in Tinh Bien town,and conduct an exercise to combat drug crimes.
A highlight of the programme is a workshop onVietnam-Cambodia friendship, and an art and cultural exchange themed “Sharingthe Mekong River”.
A number of sidelines activities will be heldfrom August 22 to 25 such as providing free medical check-ups and medicines foraround 1,000 people in An Giang (Vietnam) and Takeo and Kandal (Cambodia),presenting scholarships and breeding cows to Vietnamese and Cambodian studentsand farmers, respectively.-VNA
The negotiations for border demarcation and marker planting between Vietnam and Cambodia over the past time have reaped good outcomes, contributing to the creation of a stable and peaceful environment for the two countries’ national defence and economic development, heard a conference held in the Mekong Delta province of An Giang on July 16.
Deputy Minister of Defence, Sen. Lt. Gen. Nguyen Chi Vinh on July 23 suggested Cambodia’s Ministry of Defence direct its military units to effectively implement annual protocols, cooperation plans and agreements signed between the two countries’ high-ranking officials and defence ministries.
The Vietnam–Cambodia and Cambodia–Vietnam friendship associations on July 29 issued a joint statement, strengthening friendly neighborliness, traditional friendship and long-term cooperation between the two nations.

A hub for sharing best practices, the event aims to forge solutions for financial sustainability, public media contracts, audience engagement, content innovation, and newsroom restructuring. It is also a moment for Vietnam’s media to accelerate its progress and figure out what the “revolutionary press” means in a new era.
From “Thanh nien”, Vietnam’s first revolutionary newspaper founded by Nguyen Ai Quoc (later President Ho Chi Minh) on June 21, 1925, the revolutionary press has remained devoted to its sacred missions -accompanying the nation, serving the Fatherland, and working for the people.
