Vietnam climbs five spots in FIFA rankings

Vietnam has jumped five spots to 131st in the International Federation of Football Association (FIFA) rankings in June, the Vietnam Football Federation announced on June 1.

Hanoi (VNA) – Vietnam has jumped five spots to 131st in theInternational Federation of Football Association (FIFA) rankings in June, theVietnam Football Federation announced on June 1.

With 235 points, the team ranked 20th in Asia and third in SoutheastAsia behind the Philippines, world No.126, and Thailand, world No.127.

The top slots went to Brazil, Argentina and Germany.

New Zealand rose the furthest, improving 17 places to move to 95th position while Mauritania had the furthest fall of 13 spots.

Vietnam will face Jordan, a strong rival in a higher place in FIFA’s ranking, ina 2019 Asian Cup qualifier on June 13.-VNA
