Hanoi (VNA) – Vietnam Day inSwitzerland 2021 is set to take place virtually for the first time on October 9to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the bilateral diplomatic ties(October 11).
The programme will be simultaneously held at theVietnam Television, the Vietnamese Embassy in Switzerland, and the Vietnamesepermanent mission to the United Nations (UN), the World Trade Organisation(WTO) and other international organisations.
It will include five main parts themed “HelloSwitzerland! Hello Europe!” “Original Culture,” “Miracle Vietnam,” “FutureGenerations,” and “See you in Vietnam.”

Through unique art performances and impressivefootage, the audience will be introduced to the friendship between Vietnam andSwitzerland over the past 50 years, while gaining insights into the uniqueculture of both countries.
The programme will also be broadcast via platformslike the “Vietnam Days Abroad” Fanpage and Youtube channel.
Following Vietnam Day in Switzerland, Vietnam Day inthe US will be held in November, aiming to contribute to promoting cooperationbetween the two countries, both bilaterally and multilaterally./.
Vietnamese Ambassador to Switzerland Le Linh Lan on March 8 had a working session with the Board of Directors of the University of Applied Sciences and Arts Northwestern Switzerland (FHNW), discussing measures to promote research exchange activities and cooperation in business training, and popularise Vietnam’s business and investment climate.
“L’Histoire du soldat” (the Soldier’s Tale), a classic musical by French-Russian composer Igor Stravinsky and Swiss writer Charles Ferdinand Ramuz, will be staged in Hanoi next weekend to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Vietnam-Switzerland diplomatic ties (1971-2021).
A ceremony was held in Hanoi on August 5 evening to celebrate Switzerland's 730th National Day (1291-2021) and the 50th founding anniversary of Vietnam-Switzerland diplomatic relations (1971-2021) with the attendance of Swiss Vice President and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ignazio Cassis.
The ambassador noted that among the 300,000 Vietnamese residing in the RoK, around 3,000 are living in Pyeongtaek and contributing actively to the local economy. Ho expressed his hope that the local authorities will continue support the overseas Vietnamese community in the city.
This is the first time since the adoption of the Convention that a country has served two consecutive terms on the Committee. The outcome shows the trust and recognition that member states have given Vietnam for its efforts and achievements in carrying out and promoting the Convention, as well as for its active role, strong standing, and growing credibility at UNESCO.
