Hanoi (VNA) –🗹 Vietnam have won an official berth in the last qualification round of the Asian Cup 2019.

On November 17, Chinese Taipei lost 0-2 to Iraq during their Group F match, which also includes Vietnam and Thailand, paving the way for Vietnam to take the third place.
Vietnam is at third place in the ranking with four points. Thailand is on top with 13, followed by Iraq on eight. Chinese Taipei which competed with Vietnam for the third position scored no point and languishes at the bottom. Vietnam ensured its position although it has two matches ahead. The team will play Iraq at an away ground and Chinese Taipei on home turf next March. According to the rules, eight teams which top their groups together with four teams with the best result will advance to the Cup final.
Twenty-four teams which stand lower will enter the last qualification round of the Asian Cup where they will compete with each other and the best eight will advance. The round will be in March 2017. "Although we reached our target of being the last qualifier for the Cup we will still prepare for the rest of the games," Vietnam Football Federation General Secretary Le Hoai Anh said.-VNA
