Vietnam enter ASEAN Futsal Championship's final after dramatic win over Australia

Vietnam's futsal team dramatically defeated their Australian rivals in the last minute thanks to a penalty kick in the semi-finals of the ASEAN Futsal Championship 2024.

Hanoi (VNA)🍎 – Vietnam's futsal team dramatically defeated their Australian rivals in the last minute thanks to a penalty kick in the semi-finals of the ASEAN Futsal Championship 2024.

The two teams played an open and dramatic match. In the first half, the Australian team took a 2-goal lead. In the second half, Vietnamese players played resiliently and equalized the score. However, just seven seconds after equalising, Vietnam conceded a goal after an own goal by player Nhat Trung. Then, player Da Hai scored a goal to level the score 3-3.
After two halves, the two teams tied 3-3 and had to play extra time. In the second extra time, Vietnamese player Thinh Phat headed the ball back to raise the score to 4-3 for Vietnam. However, Australian players did not give up and got an equalizer from Grant Lynch to make it 4-4.
In the last minute, Phat successfully kicked a 10m penalty to help Vietnam win Australia 5-4 and enter the final. The other semi-final match will take place on November 8 evening between the hosts Thailand and the Indonesian team. The winners of that match will meet the Vietnamese team in the final on November 10./.
