Vietnam fall one spot in FIFA rankings

Vietnam dropped one spot in the world rankings but are still the Southeast Asia’s top football team, according to FIFA’s latest rankings.

Hanoi (VNA) – Vietnam dropped one spotin the world rankings but are still the Southeast Asia’s top football team, accordingto FIFA’s latest rankings.

Vietnam are No 113, down one spot as they didn’t play any matches in February.

They still top the region, followed by the Philippines who stand at No 122.Thailand, the regional champions, sit at No 129 in the world, and third inASEAN.

There is no change in the world’s top five with Germany on top, followed byBrazil, Portugal, Argentina and Belgium.

In Asia, Iran are the strongest team as they rank No 33 in the world. Australia(No 37) are second and Japan (No 55) are third.

Vietnam, who play Jordan in the Asian Cup 2019, on March 27, are No 16.-VNA

ꦑ Vietnam re-elected to 2005 UNESCO Convention’s Intergovernmental Committee
