Vietnam football star Nguyen Quang Hai among Asia’s top ten

Hanoi (VNA)🍃 – The brilliant performance bymidfielder Nguyen Quang Hai (No. 19) has helped the Vietnam national footballteam win the ASEAN Football Federation (AFF) Suzuki Cup 2018 in Hanoi onDecember 15 and brought his name into the list of Asia’s top ten selected bythe Asian Football Confederation (AFC).


On its website, the AFC described Hai as a creativeplayer with a good sense for space who can make rare passes almost impossibleby others. He was also hailed as a spotlight in Vietnam’s young and amazingteam.

Hai was named the Most Valuable Player of the AFFSuzuki Cup 2018 for his significant contributions to the Vietnamese footballsquad’s victory at the tournament, and admired for the skills he performed withhis left leg in free kicks and passes.

The Hanoi FC midfielder scored five goals, makingconsiderable contributions to Vietnam’s march to the final of the Asian U23football cup for the first time ever early this year.

♕ The Asia’s top ten list also includes Turki Al Ammar ofSaudi Arabia, Hwang In-beom of the Republic of Korea, Mohanad Ali of Iraq,Ritsu Doan of Japan, Bassam Hisham of Qata, Khalfan Mubarak of the UAE, MahmoudYousef of Palestine, Jaided Supachai of Thailand, and Dostonbek Khamdamov ofUzbekistan.

Vietnamheld the Cup trophy again after 10 years by beating Malaysia 1-0 in thesecond-leg final of the tournament that took place at My Dinh National Stadium,Hanoi, on December 15 night. The national team took the first champion title ofthe AFF Suzuki Cup in 2008, also at My Dinh Stadium.-VNA
