Hanoi (VNA) – Politburo member and President of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics (HCMA) Nguyen Xuan Thang received newly-appointed Japanese Ambassador to Vieಞtnam Ito Naoki in Hanoi on June 28, calling for his support for the launching of personnel training projects in collaboration with the Japan International Cooper🃏ation Agency (JICA).

Thang, who also serves as Chairman of the Central Theory Council, suggested fostering delegation and expert exchanges invited by the embassy and holding seminars with HCMA staff and trainees of advanced political theory classes. He also hailed Japan as Vietnam’s major partner in the fields of trade, economy, investment; and the largest provider of official development assistance (ODA) that contributes significantly to Vietnam's socio-economic development.
The host expressed his confidence in the bilateral cooperative relationship over the past five decades, which has positively contributed to the overall development of relations between Vietnam and Japan in general and between HCMA and its Japanese partners. According to the official, HCMA and JICA have maintained a close cooperation for many years, particularly in training and capacity building for HCMA officials. JICA has sent experts to train management methods in various Vietnamese cities and provinces such as Thai Binh, Thanh Hoa, Quang Binh, and Kien Giang.
Furthermore, they have jointly published two books on Japanese policy experiences and training management methods, serving as valuable reference materials for HCMA and political schools nationwide. Naoki, for his part, hoped for support from HCMA in rolling out projects in Vietnam and enhancing ODA cooperation to improve Vietnam’s public debt-to-GDP ratio and facilitate technology transfer from Japan through JICA's capital expenditures. He pledged to make every effort to strengthen the Vietnam-Japan comprehensive strategic partnership, as well as the relations between HCMA and the Japanese Embassy, agencies and organisations./.
