Hoa Binh (VNA) – A delegation fromLaos’ Houaphan province visited the northwestern province of Hoa Binh onJanuary 18 to strengthen cooperation.
The same day, Secretary of the provincial PartyCommittee Bui Van Tinh hosted a reception for the Lao guests during which thetwo sides briefed each other on their socio-economic development in 2016.
Houaphan province recorded a moderate growth and has potential in hydroelectricpower, mining and animal husbandry. Me꧑anwhile,Hoa Binh boasts strengths in agro-fishery-forestry, construction materials andeco-tourism, with an economic growth of 7.62 percent last year.
The localities agreed to foster theirfriendship and collaboration based on mutual respect and equality in line withthe laws and policies of both countries.
They will step up relations in the fields ofeducation, health, trade, investment, agriculture and tourism.

Leaders of Vietnam’s central Thanh Hoa province and Huaphan province of Laos met on March 29 to review last year’s cooperation results and sign an agreement on cooperation for 2012.
