Beijing (VNA) – The Vietnamese Embassy and Lao Embassy in China held aceremony to mark the 55th anniversary of the two nations’ diplomaticties and 40 years of the Vietnam-Laos Treaty of Amity and Cooperation in Bejingon July 19.
Reviewing the development in the friendship between Vietnam and Laos,Vietnamese Ambassador to China Dang Minh Khoi stressed that the celebrationcreated a political and legal base for friendship and cooperation between thetwo peoples.
Meetings were held in both nations on July 18 to mark those historic eventswith high-ranking leaders from the two countries in attendance, Khoi said.
Over the past five decades, Vietnam-Laos relations have been nurtured by thetwo peoples, contributing to development in each nation and promoting regionaland global peace, sustainability and cooperation.
Meanwhile, Lao Ambassador to China Vandy Bouthasavong said that Vietnam andLaos have close ties in the struggles for independence and nationalconstruction.
Relations have enjoyed development in various fields, she highlighted, addingthat the ceremony will help young generations from both sides continue topromote bilateral ties.
The ceremony featured art performances and traditional dishes of the twocountries.-VNA

The country is willing to participate in collective efforts to promote cooperation and mobilise resources to advance the current priority issues of developing countries, such as trade, investment, infrastructure connectivity, making the most of scientific and technological advances for development, and people-to-people exchanges, Hang said.
During the negotiations, the US highly evaluated Vietnam’s goodwill and efforts, affirmed its appreciation for the bilateral relationship, acknowledged Vietnam’s proposals and concerns, and considered these an important basis for continuing discussions and moving towards a final agreement.
The Chairman stressed the need for stricter fiscal discipline, faster digital transformation, and more efficient management of State budget revenues and expenditures.
