Vietnam, Laos intensify social science cooperation

The Theoretical Council of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee and the Lao National Council for Social Sciences signed a cooperation agreement in Hanoi on November 27.
Hanoi (VNA) – The Theoretical Council ofthe Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee and the Lao National Councilfor Social Sciences signed a cooperation agreement in Hanoi on November 27.

The signatories are Permanent Vice Chairmen of the two councils Phung Huu Phuand Xukongxeng Xaynhalot.

Accordingly, the councils will coordinate with the Commission for ExternalRelations and relevant agencies of the two countries’ parties to organiseannual theoretical seminars rotationally, while exchanging delegations,experience and research outcomes.

The same day, Xukongxeng Xaynhalot, who is also President of the Lao NationalSocial Science Institute, was received by Nguyen Xuan Thang, Director of the HoChi Minh National Academy of Politics (HCMA) and Vice Chairman of the TheoreticalCouncil.

Phu suggested his academy and the Lao council shareexperience in fields under their charge, contributing to tighteningVietnam-Laos special solidarity.

He informed his hosts about outcomes of the recently-concluded fourth sitting ofthe 14th National Assembly, during which Vietnamese legislators decided on manyimportant issues.

Xukongxeng Xaynhalot congratulated Vietnam on achievements the country hasrecorded, especially its hosting of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC)Economic Leaders’ Week and APEC Year 2017 in general.

He expresses his hope that Vietnam will continue its support to Laos intraining officials and managers, and scientific research, contributing tocompleting theories of the two Parties and States. -VNA
