An event promoting Vietnam’s culture and tourism was recently held at a multicultural festival in Augsburg in Germany’s Bavaria state.

Berlin (VNA) –💦 An event promoting Vietnam’s cultureand tourism was recently held at a multicultural festival in Augsburg inGermany’s Bavaria state.

It was jointly organised by the Consulate General of Vietnamin Frankfurt and Huong Viet magazine of Vietnamese people in Germany. In his opening speech, Consul General Le Quang Long said theevent offers chances for members of the Vietnamese community in Germany’s southwestern region to meet and connect with international friends, and promote Vietnam’s images as an attractive, safe and friendly destination. Vietnam’s tourism products, cuisine and national mapsfeaturing Hoang Sa (Paracel) and Truong Sa (Spratly) archipelagos wereintroduced at the event. The country’s folk dances were also a draw tovisitors.   During his working trip to Augsburg, Long met with the city's thirdhonorary mayor Bernd Kränzle, who spoke highly of the role of the Vietnamesecommunity in the German city in fostering exchanges and mutual understandingbetween people of Germany and Vietnam.

He stated that Augsburg and Vietnamese localities canenhance cooperation in nurse training via partnership with the UniversityHospital Augsburg, pledging to support the Vietnamese Consulate General to seekpartners. Launched in 2009, the Huong Viet magazine has served as abridge linking the Vietnamese community in Germany and compatriots at home andarranged events to promote the country’s culture and people to German and internationalfriends./.

🌠 Vietnam re-elected to 2005 UNESCO Convention’s Intergovernmental Committee

This is the first time since the adoption of the Convention that a country has served two consecutive terms on the Committee.
