– VietnameseAmbassador to Mexico and Panama Nguyen Hoai Duong presented a copy ofhis credentials toPanamanian Deputy Foreign Minister Alfaro Boyd via a virtual meeting onSeptember 10.

During the event, the Vietnamese diplomat expressed his honour to be appointedas Ambassador of Vietnam to Panama, and pledged to do his utmost to strengthen multifacetedcooperation between the two countries, thus deepening bilateral relations forthe sake of the their people, and peace, stability and development in eachcountry and the region.

For his part, the Panama official applauded Vietnam’s development achievements,suggesting the two nations further promote cooperation and mutual support inthe time to come, especially in areas of their strength such as agriculture,aquaculture, logistics, and telecommunications.

He stressed that Panama, as the largest transit hub in Central America with the Colon FreeTrade Zone, is willing to be a gateway helping Vietnam promote trade with LatinAmerica, while Vietnam can support Panama in entering Southeast Asian markets.

AmbassadorDuong conveyed the thanks of the Vietnamese Foreign Ministry’s leaders to theirPanamanian counterparts for their nod to organise online talks at thedeputy-ministerial level to review the overall bilateral relations, and discussmeasures to strengthen cooperation in the future, contributing to expanding themulti-faceted ties between the governments and people of the two countries./.
