Vietnam Poetry Day 2017 to highlight children’s works

The Vietnam Poetry Day 2017, the 15th edition, will be held in Hanoi on February 11 or the 15th day of the first lunar month of the New Year (Nguyen Tieu festival), with a special space designed for children’s poet clubs.

Hanoi (VNA) – The Vietnam Poetry Day 2017, the15th edition, will be held in Hanoi on February 11 or the 15th day of the firstlunar month of the New Year (Nguyen Tieu festival), with a special spacedesigned for children’s poet clubs.

This year, the “Vietnam’s Children Poet Space” for childrenclubs’ activities will be organised with three pavilions beside those forcities and provinces, the Vietnam Writers’ Association announced on January 24.

Meanwhile, the traditional poetry space will give exchangeopportunities for groups of outstanding poets of different generations andauthors winning awards of the Vietnam Writers’ Association.

Another space will also be designed for poets from citiesand provinces as well as poet clubs nationwide to meet and introduce theirworks.

This year’s event will also feature the “Path of Poet” forthe first time to introduce the portrait and works of major poets of Vietnam.

An exhibition will also be organised as part of activitiesto mark the 60th anniversary of the Vietnam Writers’ Association, which willshowcase documents, photos and items highlighting achievements of theassociation so far.

As schedule, the northern province of Vinh Phuc willintroduce pottery making and its Huong Canh pottery products, while Hoa Binhwill promote the unique culture of Mo Muong and gongs of Muong people. VinhPhuc and Bac Ninh will also jointly host poets who come to join the event.

Localities will also respond to the event. In Thai Nguyen,it will be organised in the Dinh Hoa Safety Zone.-VNA
