During a meeting recently held inSantiago, chaired by Vietnamese ambassador to Chile Ngo Duc Thang, ASEANambassadors said that Vietnam successfully completed its role as chair of thebloc in Chile in 2016. Vietnam arranged numerousactivities to promote ASEAN countries’ culture, landscapes and people to thehost country through workshops at universities and interviews with ASEANambassadors on television as well as culturaland sport exchange events. The role of ASEAN, an organisation to promote economic growth, support peace and develop culture, was introduced at a conference held at the Matias Romero Institute in Mexico City, Mexico on February 23.
