Vietnam promotes culture in Germany

The Vietnamese People Association in Leipzig city, the German state of Sachsen, held a multicultural festival of Vietnamese ethnic groups on February 23.

Speaking at the event, Uwe Albrecht,mayor of the city, said he had received the cooperation and activesupport of the Vietnamese association and the Vietnamese Embassy duringhis working visits to Vietnam .

He expressed his hope that the city will be able to sign cooperation contracts with Vietnamese partners in the coming time.

Onbehalf of the Vietnamese Embassy in Germany , Pham Viet Chien,embassy counsellor, affirmed the multicultural festival organised by theVietnamese community in Leipzig city and other regions acrossGermany demonstrates overseas Vietnamese’s solidarity and passion forthe homeland.

He said the overseas Vietnamesepeople are “cultural ambassadors” to further promote the strategicpartnership between the two countries and their citizens.

The festival attracted numerous German and international visitors,which featured tens of art performances by Vietnamese people in Germany,including martial arts, monochord and ethnic dance./.

Viet🀅nam re-elected to 2005 UNESCO Convention’s Intergovernmental Committee

This is the first time since the adoption of the Convention that a country has served two consecutive terms on the Committee.
