Vietnamese diplomatic representatives joined their Asia-Pacificcounterparts for Embassy Day in Berlin to promote Vietnam ’s imageinternationally.
The Vietnamese delegation broughtan exhibition space to the event, showcasing traditional handicrafts,national cuisine, and photographs of Vietnam ’s people and beautifullandscapes.
They also staged musical performances which were well-received by the audience.
Themed “ Smart City ”, the September 10 event provided a chancefor participants to learn from each others’ experiences in a number offields, from economics to tourism and culture, and to seek cooperationopportunities.
Indonesian Ambassador Fauzi Bowo,Chairman of the ASEAN Committee in Berline, said there was a hugepotential for cooperation between Asian-Pacific countries and Germany ,particularly at a time when East Asia was experiencing dynamic growthand boosting the global economy.
In seminars, thedelegates highlighted some of the region’s major challenges, includingrapid population growth, lack of natural resources and climate changeimpacts, which require smart solutions, especially with regard toinfrastructure and urban development.
In Vietnam ,the German Film Festival is underway in the central province of ThuaThien Hue , screening films that feature the common themes of family,love and friendship. The event runs from September 11-17.-VNA
