Hanoi (VNA) -♑ Vietnam reached the final of the AFFU23 Championship after a victory from the spot over Timor Leste on February24.
The squad had only 13 players for the semi-final, the minimum for a team to go for amatch under the rules of the championship held in Cambodia. Earlier, reinforcements had to be sent from Vietnam as many members of the team tested positive for COVID-19. Both teams were held to a goalless draw during official andextra times.

Five Vietnamese players scored while a Timor Leste youngster failed in the intense shootout,giving them a 5-3 win. Vietnam will face Thailand in the final on February 26,whereas Timor Leste are to play Laos in the third-place playoff on the sameday./.
Vietnam’s U23 football team are facing a serious personnel loss when more players have become suspected cases of COVID-19, posing a great challenge to the decisive match against Thailand in the 2022 AFF U23 Championship.

The ambassador noted that among the 300,000 Vietnamese residing in the RoK, around 3,000 are living in Pyeongtaek and contributing actively to the local economy. Ho expressed his hope that the local authorities will continue support the overseas Vietnamese community in the city.
