Hanoi (VNA) – As assertedmany times before, Vietnam has sufficient legal ground and historical evidenceaffirming its sovereignty over Truong Sa (Spratly) archipelago, stated ForeignMinistry’s spokesperson Le Thi Thu Hang.
She made the statement in Hanoion May 8 in response to reporters’ queries about Vietnam’s response to the recentvisit to Truong Sa archipelago’s Thi Tu island by Philippine Defence SecretaryEduardo Ano along with Philippine and foreign reporters.
Vietnam asks parties concerned torespect Vietnam’s sovereignty over Truong Sa archipelago, fully and seriouslyimplement the Declaration on the Conduct of Parties in the East Sea, exerciserestraint and refrain from actions that cause tension and further complicatethe situation, and settle disputes by peaceful means in accordance withinternational law, she said.-VNA
