Vietnam, RoK supreme courts enhance cooperation

Hanoi (VNA) – Chief Judge of the Supreme People’s Court Nguyen Hoa Binh heldtalks with his RoK counterpart Yang Sung-tae in Hanoi on August 28 to seek waysto boost the cooperation between the two supreme courts.

Binh saidthat Vietnam and the RoK boast an extensive partnership in various fields,including judicial collaboration.

The two countries signedmany judicial cooperation agreements, while their courts enjoy the growing partnershipthrough many activities such as the signing of the memorandum of understandingon judicial exchange and cooperation, delegation exchanges, and personneltraining support.

He briefed theguest on a number of major tasks of the Vietnam Supreme People’s Court,including the development of legal precedent, enhancement of adversarialprocess at court, and application of information technology. He also expressedhope to learn the RoK Supreme Court’s experience in the fields.

For his part, the RoK Chief Justice said the traditionalfruitful relationship between the Vietnamese and Korean courts has beenfostered by both sides towards new heights.

At the talks, the officials agreed to continue stimulatingengagements between the two supreme courts, particularly in boosting technologicalapplication and improving judges’ capacity.-VNA
