Hanoi (VNA)– Deputy Prime Minister Truong Hoa Binh highly valued the support of the Republicof Korea (RoK) Government and people to Vietnam’s national reform anddevelopment, including legal and judicial reforms, while meeting with RoK ChiefJustice Yang Sung-tae in Hanoi on August 28.
He thanked the RoK forassisting the implementation of a project to strengthen capacity of the Schoolfor Court Officials, which is now the Vietnam Court Academy, contributing to improvingthe quality and effectiveness of judicial training in the country.
The Deputy PMexpressed hope to learn more from the RoK Supreme Court’s experience in developingthe electronic legal procedure model as well as the establishment of an InventionCourt and courts for families and adolescents.
He affirmed thesupport of the Vietnamese Government for the further enhancement of cooperationbetween the Supreme People’s Court of Vietnam (SPCV) and RoK partners,including the Supreme Court and the Korean International Cooperation Agency(KOICA).
He also askedSPCV and KOICAto soon launch a project to improve the transparencyand judgmentquality of courts in Vietnam.
For his part, YangSung-tae said that he is pleased to be the first RoK Chief Justice to visitVietnam when the two countries are celebrating the 25th anniversaryof bilateral diplomatic ties.
He said he hopes Binhwillcontinue backing the cooperation between the RoK Supreme Court and the SupremePeople’s Court of Vietnam, as well as the project to improve the transparencyand judgment quality of Vietnam’s courts.-VNA
