Vietnam, Russia intensify cooperation in anti-corruption

Moscow (VNA) – The Government Inspectorate of Vietnam (GIV) and Russia ’s Presidential Directorate for Countering Corruption (PDCC) have exchanged experience in the fight against corruptio🅰n.

During their talks in Moscow on June 27, Vietnamese Deputy Inspector General Dang Cong Huan and head of the PDCC Oleg Plokhoi briefed each other on the anti-corruption work in their respective countries over the recent past.
The Vietnamese delegation learned from Russia ’s strategic orientations in combating corruption and how the fight has been carried out in Russian localities as well as in the field of public procurement. Mentioning cooperation in personnel training, the Russian side said they are working with competent agencies to provide scholarships and build short-term training courses on anti-corruption for the GIV staff. The two sides also touched upon their coordination at multilateral forums on anti-corruption, especially during the APEC Year 2017 to be hosted by Vietnam .
The Russian side used the occasion to thank Vietnam for its collaboration during the Conference of the States Parties to the United Nations Convention against Corruption recently held in Russia . The Vietnamese delegation is on a working visit to Russia from June 27-July 1 in the realisation of a memorandum of understanding signed by the two agencies. During their stay in Russia , the delegation laid a wreath at President Ho Chi Minh’s statue in Moscow and visited the University of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.-VNA
