Vietnam seeks Japan’s experiences in environmental protection

Hanoi (VNA) - Politburo member PhamMinh Chinh, President of the Vietnam-Japan Friendship Parliamentarians’ Group,hosted a reception in Hanoi on May 4 for Japanese Deputy Minister ofEnvironm🦋ent Arata Takebe, who is also Deputy Secretary-General of the Japan-VietnamParliamentary Friendship Alliance.
Chinh, who is also Secretary of the CommunistParty of Vietnam Central Committee (CPVCC) and Chairman of the CPVCC’sOrganisation Commission, said he was happy to see that relations between thetwo countries’ parliamentarians and the Vietnam-Japan FriendshipParliamentarians’ Group and the Japan-Vietnam Parliamentary Friendship Alliancehave been nurtured through many generations.
He said Vietnam-Japan ties have enjoyedstrong development with increasing trust between high-ranking officials of thetwo countries, adding that close cooperation between the two nation’sfriendship parliamentarian groups in recent years has brought in successes.
The two sides have jointly organised variouscultural exchange activities in both countries and lifted up their voice infostering bilateral cooperation in key areas, including economy, trade,investment, agriculture, security, defence and education-training, he added.
Chinh also expressed his hope that Japan willshare experiences in environmental protection to assist Vietnam’s sustainabledevelopment, as well as provide support in researching and forecasting theimpacts of environment and climate change to the country’s growth.
For his part, Arata Takebe said the twocountries have been cooperating fruitfully in many fields.
He affirmed that Japan is willing to shareexperiences to help Vietnam handle social and environmental♍ issues during itsdevelopment process.-VNA

During the negotiations, the US highly evaluated Vietnam’s goodwill and efforts, affirmed its appreciation for the bilateral relationship, acknowledged Vietnam’s proposals and concerns, and considered these an important basis for continuing discussions and moving towards a final agreement.
The Chairman stressed the need for stricter fiscal discipline, faster digital transformation, and more efficient management of State budget revenues and expenditures.
