Vietnam seen through lens of local, foreign artists

Original photos and videos featuring the wonderful landscapes of Vietnam and interesting life stories of its inhabitants are on display at a new exhibition in Hanoi.

Hanoi (VNS/VNA) - Original photos andvideos featuring the wonderful landscapes of Vietnam and interesting lifestories of its inhabitants are on display at a new exhibition in Hanoi.

The Go Explore Vietnam Immersive Art exhibitionpresents a selected collection of photography and videography artwork,featuring different destinations across Vietnam to create an immersive artspace, combined with diverse visual and sound effects such as lighting,experimental/electronic music and art performances.

“We want to bring the image of Vietnam as well as the Vietnamesepeople, art and cultures closer to the world through creative photographs andvideos. Through this art and cultural event, we want to create a chance foreveryone to experience art, including both art lovers and the travelcommunity,” said Huong Nguyen, a travel blogger and founder of the exhibitionproject.

It comprises three main art spaces: Landscapes of Vietnam, Humansof Vietnam, and Life in Vietnam. Visitors can admire landscape photographyfeaturing gorgeous travel destinations in Vietnam shot by drone cameras,portraits of Vietnamese people, photographed by international artists who havetravelled throughout the country; and typical daily life in the country’svarious regions, reflecting a mixture of traditional and modern influences.

Sound and visual elements take visitors to different places acrossVietnam. They can better discover interesting stories of the life and people inVietnam through the filming of scenes and photographs.

The exhibition display artworks by Vietnameseand international artists from different countries, including well-known Frenchphotographer Réhahn. He was ranked one of the top 10 portrait photographers inthe world and the second most popular French photographer on the internet,having been to over 35 countries and is currently living in Hoi An city.

“I’ve been in almost all provinces in Vietnam to take photos andshow others how beautiful the country is. The more I travel, the more I amproud of living in Vietnam,” said 24 year-old Pham Phu Nghia who brings to theshow several photos of Vietnam taken from above.

This exhibition is a part of Go Explore,a non-profit community project aiming to promote Vietnam’s tourism, art andculture. The project was launched by travel bloggers and videographers, localcompanies and travellers across Vietnam.

Go Explore’s team has travelled around thecountry to produce 10 short videos promoting 10 destinations, photos andarticles to market Vietnam tourism in a fun, and creative way. They have alsoorganised three travel-themed events in Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang, and Hanoi toencourage Vietnamese people to travel more, and guide like-minded travellers onhow to combine their passion for travelling and working remotely.

The exhibition runsuntil September 1 at Heritage Space located at Dolphin Plaza, 6 Nguyen HoangStreet, in Nam Tu Liem district.-VNA

❀ Vietnamese culture takes centre stage in Korean city

♛ Vietnam re-elected to 2005 UNESCO Convention’s Intergovernmental Committee

This is the first time since the adoption of the Convention that a country has served two consecutive terms on the Committee. The outcome shows the trust and recognition that member states have given Vietnam for its efforts and achievements in carrying out and promoting the Convention, as well as for its active role, strong standing, and growing credibility at UNESCO.

The exhibition showcases more than 100 valuable documents and artifacts, divided into two main parts: “Journalist Nguyen Ai Quoc – Ho Chi Minh” and “President Ho Chi Minh – Founder and Mentor of Vietnamese Revolutionary Press.” This is an opportunity to recall the late leader’s journalism journey and affirm his exceptional role in founding and guiding the revolutionary press in Vietnam.

Vietnam take silver in AFF U19 Final
