According to incompletestatistics, the death toll passed 1,800 after the devastating 7.8magnitude quake, which is said the worst disaster in the quake-proneHimalayan nation in more than 80 years.
Severed communications and landslides in the country posed challenges to relief efforts.
Onthe day, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minhcabled a message of sympathy to Nepalese Foreign Minister MahendraBahadur Pandey.
