Vietnam to host ASEAN Film Awards

Vietnam will host the ASEAN Film Awards in the framework of the 20th Vietnam Film Festival, which will take place in the central city of Da Nang from November 24-28.

Hanoi (VNA) –ꦡ Vietnam will host the ASEAN Film Awards in the framework ofthe 20th Vietnam Film Festival, which will take place in the central city of DaNang from November 24-28.

Thejudging panel consists of film producer Jonathan Hyong-Joon Kim of the Republicof Korea, director Roger Garcia of Hong Kong (China) and director and scriptwriterKarolina Bielawska of Poland. Thewinning film will receive a prize worth 3,000 USD. TheVietnam Film Festival aims to honour Vietnam’s best movies and create aplatform for artists and film producers to share experience.

Itis part of the activities to celebrate the 50th founding anniversary of theAssociation of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN). Thefestival affirms the crucial role of the cinema industry in promoting culture,traditional friendship and cooperation among the ASEAN member nations.
