Vietnam to host two int’l volleyball tournaments

Hanoi (VNA) –🔴 Vietnam will host two international volleyball tournaments this summer, heard a press conference held by the Volleyball Federation of Vietnam on May 14 in Hanoi.

The 2018 LienVietPostBank International Men’s Volleyball Tournament will take place on May 25-31 in the northern province of Ha Nam. It will feature six teams including China, Burevestnik club from Kazakhstan, Indonesia, Myanmar, Thailand and host Vietnam. The event has a total 40,000 USD of prize money on offer. The winning team will walk away with a trophy and 15,000 USD. In addition, the 2018 Asian LienVietPostBank Women’s U19 Volleyball Championship is slated for June 10-17 in the northern province of Bac Ninh.  It is set to host 16 Asian young teams, including Australia, China, Japan, the Republic of Korea, Taiwan (China), Kazakhstan, Iran, India, Macau (China), Hong Kong (China), New Zealand, Malaysia, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Uzbekistan and host Vietnam. Deputy head of the Vietnam Sports Administration Tran Duc Phan said it is the first time Vietnam has hosted the Asian U19 woman’s volleyball event, with the largest number of teams so far.-VNA
