Vietnam treasures neighbourly friendship with China: PM
Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc has reiterated to Chinese Politburo member Fan Changlong that Vietnam attaches importance to developing its good neighbourliness with China.

Hanoi (VNA) – Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc hasreiterated to Chinese Politburo member and Vice Chairman of the CentralMilitary Commission Fan Changlong that Vietnam attaches importance todeveloping its good neighbourliness with China.
Hosting a reception for Fan Changlong in Hanoi on June 18,the PM welcomed the Chinese official to Vietnam to attend the fourthVietnam-China border defence friendship exchange programme scheduled to takeplace in both Vietnam and China from June 20-22.
The PM applauded the establishment of a cooperativemechanism between the two Central Military Commissions to implement the statementon joint vision on defence cooperation until 2025.
He stressed that Vietnam and China should tighten ties andstay vigilant over schemes that target separating the two Parties and nations inthe complicated international situation.
Fan said that his visit aims at continuing to realiseimportant common perceptions of the two countries’ senior leaders, for thecomprehensive development of the countries’ friendly and cooperativerelationship.
He stated he believes Vietnam has the potential to furtherdevelop bilateral cooperation with China, while affirming China’s willingness tocollaborate with Vietnam to effectively carry out the regional One Belt OneRoad initiative and the bilateral Two Corridors, one Economic Belt developmentplan.
Both host and guest agreed not to allow sea-related issuesto affect the two countries’ relations.
Phuc expressed his hope the two armies will lead inmaintaining friendship and adhering to international law and the United NationsConvention on the Law of the Sea 1982 (UNCLOS), implementing the Declaration onthe Conduct of Parties in the East Sea (DOC) effectively and working to earlyform a Code of Conduct in the East Sea (COC).-VNA
The fourth Vietnam-China border defence friendship exchange programme will be held in the northern bordering province of Lai Chau and Yunnan province of China from June 20-22.
Vietnamese and Chinese high-ranking military officers have reviewed the outcomes of cooperation between the two armies in the recent past and agreed upon the contents and measures of cooperation in the time ahead to effectively implement the statement on joint vision on defence cooperation until 2025 that was signed in January 2017.
Vietnam hopes to strengthen trust with China, improving the two countries’ cooperation across the fields while sustaining peace and stability in the East Sea.
The Party, State and people of Vietnam attach special importance to the traditional relationship with China, and consider it as a valuable asset of both sides, President Tran Dai Quang has stated.
The Party and State of Vietnam always attach great importance to and give top priority to the development of Vietnam–China relations. Vietnam is ready to work with the Chinese Party and State to further deepen the Comprehensive Strategic Cooperative Partnership and promote the building of the Vietnam-China community with a shared future that carries strategic significance.
Under the leadership of President Ho Chi Minh and the CPV, President Cuong said, the press has been a steadfast force on the ideological and cultural front, rallying the masses to pursue national aspirations.

During the negotiations, the US highly evaluated Vietnam’s goodwill and efforts, affirmed its appreciation for the bilateral relationship, acknowledged Vietnam’s proposals and concerns, and considered these an important basis for continuing discussions and moving towards a final agreement.
The Chairman stressed the need for stricter fiscal discipline, faster digital transformation, and more efficient management of State budget revenues and expenditures.
