Vietnam wins 14 ASEAN tourism nods

Hue city, the central province of Thua Thien Hue, has won the prize for “ASEAN Clean Tourist City” during the ASEAN Tourism Forum 2018 (ATF).

– Hue city, thecentral province of Thua Thien Hue, has won the prize for “ASEAN Clean TouristCity” during the ASEAN Tourism Forum 2018 (ATF), Nguyen Van Thanh, chairman ofthe city People’s Committee, has announced.

Hoi An and Da Lat also won prizes in thecategory.

In total, Vietnam won 14 prizes. Among them,Muong Thanh Hospitality Group won two MICE ASEAN Venue Standard prizes for MuongThanh Luxury Can Tho and Muong Thanh Luxury Vientiane, the group’s first hoteloutside of Vietnam.

The ASEAN Green Hotel prize went to theFour Seasons The Nam Hai Hotel (Quang Nam), Pilgrimage Village Hotel (Hue), SixSenses Con Dao Resort (Ba Ria-Vung Tau), the Grand Ho Tram Strip (Ba Ria-VungTau) and Flamingo Dai Lai Resort (Vinh Phuc).

Thai Hai Tourism Village (Thai Nguyen) wonthe ASEAN Sustainable Award (ASTA).

Vietnam participated in the ATF held inChiang Mai, Thailand on January 22-26 with the aim of promoting Vietnam as asafe, friendly and attractive destination among ASEAN countries and to helpprepare for hosting the ATF 2019.

The Chiang Mai forum is also an opportunityfor localities and Vietnam tourism agencies to work with international tourismagencies and organisations. - VNA
