Vietnam wins four gold medals at ASEAN School Games

Vietnam won four gold medals on November 23, the first day of the ASEAN School Games 2015, which is taking place at the Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah Stadium, Brunei.

Hanoi (VNA) – Vietnam won four gold medals on November 23, the first day of the ASEAN School Games 2015, which is taking place at the Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah Stadium, Brunei.

The first gold medals were won by Lo Thi Huong in the girls’ javelin event and Le Tu Chinh in the girls’ 100m event.

Nguyen Thi Truc Mai claimed the third gold medal for the country in the girls’ long jump event with her best jump of 6.1 metres and Tran Thi Tham brought home the fourth gold medal in the girls’ 1,500m event.

Nguyen Thi Hang clinched a silver medal in the girls’ 400m event.

Their boy teammates took home three bronze medals in shotput, 400m and 1,500m events.

The event will close on November 29.-VNA
