Vietnam wins gold prize at Asian karate championship
Vietnam won one gold, two silver and six bronze medals at the 14th Asian Cadet, Junior & U-21 Karate Championships 2014 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on August 10.

The single gold medal was won by Nguyen Thi Viet Trinh in the girls' kumite category.
Nguyen Thi Phuong came second in the kata event for 14-to-15 year-old girls.
Tran Pham Viet Thong lost to Alduwailah Abduullateef of Kuwait in the boy's U63kg category.
Vietnamranked sixth out of the 28 teams participating in the event. Irantopped the podium, winning 13 gold medals, followed by Japan with ninegold medals and Kazakhstan with two gold medals.
According to VuSon Ha, head of the Karate Department of the National SportsAdministration, the tournament was an important opportunity for youngplayers to sharpen their skills as well as prepare their mind for futurecompetitions.
The event took place in Kuala Lumpur on August8-11 with the participation of martial artists from about 40 countriesand territories, including top competitors Iran, Japan and Kazakhstan.-VNA
Nguyen Trong Nha Uyen has made history for Vietnam’s dancesport by clinching a bronze medal in the solo Latin category at the WDSF World Championship 2025 in Germany.
