Vietnamese athletes won three golds at the ninth WTF World TaekwondoPoomsae Championships in Aguascalientes, Mexico, which ended on November2.
The medals were bagged at the U-30 women's teamperformance, the women's individual freestyle in the over-17 categoryand the over-17 freestyle pair event
The Vietnamesealso walked away with two silvers and four bronzes during the four-daycompetition, ranking fourth among the participating 46 countries.
The 29-member team competed in 24 out of 36 disciplines with the initial aim of winning at least two gold medals.
This year's event has attracted a total of 461 poomsae athletes.
In 2013, Vietnam ranked second in the eighth edition of the same eventheld in Bali, Indonesia, with three gold, three silver and five bronzemedals.-VNA
The ambassador noted that among the 300,000 Vietnamese residing in the RoK, around 3,000 are living in Pyeongtaek and contributing actively to the local economy. Ho expressed his hope that the local authorities will continue support the overseas Vietnamese community in the city.
