Vientiane (VNA) – Vietnamese Ambassador to Laos Nguyen Ba Hung led a Vietnamesedelegation to the Lao Ministry of Foreign Affairs on April 4 tocongratulate the country's on its traditional New Year festival Bunpimay.
Hungexpressed his best wishes to the Lao Party, State and people on the occasion.He informed that Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, President Vo VanThuong, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and National Assembly Chairman VuongDinh Hue will send letters of congratulations and flowers to Lao Party andState leaders.
Stressingthat the Vietnamese Party, State and people are delighted at the recentpositive development in Laos after the COVID-19 pandemic was put under control, Hung highlightedthe role of Lao PM Sonexay Siphandone, and Lao Deputy PM and Minister of Foreign Affairs Saleumxay Kommasith in the process.
♛ Heexpressed his belief that this year, the Lao Party, State and people willcontinue reaping new achievements, stabilising the socio-economic situation andbringing Laos back to the path of sustainable development in the near future.

Saleumxay,for his part, conveyed his profound thanks to Vietnamese Party and State leadersand people for treasuring and supporting the Lao counterparts in every aspect, especiallyat a time when Laos faced economic difficulties, which once again affirmed thespecial relationship between the two countries.

Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Hong Dien and Lao Minister of Energy and Mines Phoxay Sayasone have agreed to further boost Vietnam-Laos cooperation in energy and mining, contributing to the traditional friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive partnership between the two nations.
The Forest Protection Department under the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, in coordination with the Department of Forest Inspection of Laos, organised a conference in the central city of Hue on February 24 to review their cooperation in the last five years and discuss coordination activities in 2023 – 2028.
Vietnamese Ambassador to Laos Nguyen Ba Hung on March 17 visited the headquarters of the Commission for External Relations of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party (LPRP) Central Committee in Vientiane to extend greetings on the LPRP’s 68th founding anniversary (March 22, 1955-2023).
The Vietnamese and Lao defence ministries held the third deputy ministerial-level defence policy dialogue in the Lao northern province of Houaphane on March 23.

The country is willing to participate in collective efforts to promote cooperation and mobilise resources to advance the current priority issues of developing countries, such as trade, investment, infrastructure connectivity, making the most of scientific and technological advances for development, and people-to-people exchanges, Hang said.
During the negotiations, the US highly evaluated Vietnam’s goodwill and efforts, affirmed its appreciation for the bilateral relationship, acknowledged Vietnam’s proposals and concerns, and considered these an important basis for continuing discussions and moving towards a final agreement.
The Chairman stressed the need for stricter fiscal discipline, faster digital transformation, and more efficient management of State budget revenues and expenditures.
