Vietnamese ambassador meets national men's football team before match against Laos
Vietnamese Ambassador to Laos Nguyen Minh Tam on December 8 had a meeting with the Vietnamese national men's football team, who are in Vientiane for the opening match of Group B against hosts Laos in the ASEAN Mitsubishi Electric Cup 2024 (AFF Cup 2024) today.

Vientiane (VNA) – Vietnamese Ambassador to Laos Nguyen Minh Tam on December 8 had a meeting with the Vietnamese national men's football team, who are in Vientiane for the opening match of Group B against hosts Laos in the ASEAN Mitsubishi Electric Cup 2024 (AFF Cup 2024) today.
Briefing the team on the Vietnam – Laos special relationship, including cooperation in sports, the diplomat congratulated them on their achievements so far, expressing his hope that the squad will do their utmost to achieve the best results in this tournament.
Vice President of the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) Tran Anh Tu expressed gratitude for the support from the embassy, affirming that this was a great source of encouragement for the team.
The team and its coaching staff have made the best preparations for the tournament, and they are determined to win the first match, he said.
Captain Do Duy Manh promised that the team will play with full dedication, embodying the spirit of fair play, and strive to deliver exciting and beautiful football moments for the fans of both nations.

According to the latest announcement from the ASEAN Football Federation (AFF), AFF U19 Youth Championship 2024 will be held in Surabaya, Indonesia, from July 17 - 31 instead of starting in June 2024, the Vietnam Football Federation said on April 16.
